PROJECTS

FRAME HOUSE

The project is located at Southridge subdivision, Tagaytay. The owner wants to build their vacation house when they come home to Philippines. They want the house to be a “haven”.

The design considerations were made to address these concerns:

The lot. The lot area is 204 sq.m with an irregular shape. This is an advantage to play around within the lot and design an interesting and functional layout of the house.

The environment. The environment of the site is very interesting. The view from the rear portion of the site is hills of pineapple plantation, while the front portion of the house’s view is the big and beautiful houses of the neighborhood. The place is very peaceful; a place where every family would wish to stay.

The design concept is:

Picture Frame. The main concept is generated in order to meet the need of the owner: to have memorable vacation. By taking advantage of the views in the environment from the site, we incorporated the frame concept in the design. Our firm intend to put into a frame the views from the environment, their activities, the plantation, and the community. It is said that one of the best relaxation activity is to gaze at a peaceful environment.

A-RESIDENCE

The House is located at Las Piñas, Pulang Lupa. The owner wants to redesign the house that will be safe from flooding. Instead of having the kitchen, dining, and living areas at the ground floor of the house, the owner preferred to place these where it shall be more secure. However, these shall pose problems in terms of the lot size and the orientation of the site.

The design considerations were made to address these concerns:

The lot. The lot is small so we need to maximize every space that will be used. The second floor will be used as kitchen, dining, and living areas with the addition of a powder room. The third floor will consist of two bedrooms with t&b, and a roof deck that will serve as a gathering/activity area and a laundry area.

The orientation of the site. The front of the lot is in the south orientation which is not a good site to build in. As an architect, one has to think of a way to make the house habitable and efficient despite the bad orientation.  As used in sustainable architecture, using balconies as sun shades and placing plants in it adds cooler ventilation and provides shade as well. Adding horizontal louvers as permanent sun shades against the south side sun orientation with a full height window using louvered windows shall also provide the shade that it needs against the afternoon sun.

B-RESIDENCE

The Buensalido Residence in Parañaque was one of the projects that Arch. JV Aoanan IV handled when I was working at Buensalido+Architects. The objective of the project was to renovate the house and its facade. The owner wanted it to have a fresh new look.

We came up with various design concepts. The design scheme for the house’s façade presented below was the one that Arch. Aoanan IV submitted.

The original design of the house was very traditional and the main target of this design of the façade was to give a modern look for the house. We decided to omit the pitched roof, because by doing so we can create a contemporary façade for the house.

CONDO UNIT PROJECT, PICO DE LORO

This Condo unit revision project is the one I handled when I was still working at Buensalido+Architects. Arch. Aoanan IV was the one who made the 3D visualization and Rendering, and preparing documents for Construction.

The unit is at the Pico De Loro located in Hamilo Coast, nasugbu Batangas, A leisure destination for those who are looking for vacation spot one with lots of nature around. The condo unit is a two-unit room; one of which is a studio type unit and the other a one-bedroom unit. The two rooms have two separate toilet and bath but share a common kitchen.

The condo unit was turned over to the owner bare, Very plain in the interiors. The owner wants to redesign the unit into an interesting condo unit with a feel that you’re truly in a vacation. So my boss Arch. Buensalido came up with the design from the inspiration of waves because Pico de loro residential buildings are located near the beach.

So I 3D modeled, rendered, and did the working drawings of the project.
